ABOUT US

Probate Assistant Limited was created to fill a need within estate administration services; providing a cost-effective service for families who find themselves needing assistance when completing an inheritance tax return.

In the past, solicitors were widely called upon to assist with the full estate administration process, often at a high fee, but with the process becoming more and more user-friendly for the non-professional, it is becoming more and more common for estate's to be administered without the aide of a solicitor. This not only allows you to save costs, but also allows you to remain in control of the administration of the estate.

However, as Probate Professionals, time after time we found the number one reason families were turning to the services of solicitors and estate administration companies was one thing - the inheritance tax paperwork! We get it, we are well versed in HMRC's requirements from years of having completed them, but for the average family member or layman executor who finds themselves tasked with completing the inheritance tax return, it is understandably daunting.

Traditionally, when seeking assistance with the inheritance tax return, a 'Grant extraction only' service is offered; whereby the professional completes the inheritance tax return and the application for Grant of Representation under a combined fee. The cost for this can vary vastly by practitioners. However, if you were only wanting assistance with the inheritance tax return, and you are otherwise ready and willing to complete the application paperwork yourself, the 'Grant only' service is an expensive, and often time consuming, option.

That is where we come in. We offer a straight-forward, transparent, and cost-effective solution for executors or administrators needing help with the completion of the inheritance tax paperwork. You pay for nothing more than you need, remain in control of the estate, and are free to continue completing the remaining stages of the grant application process. Meaning less stress for you, quicker processing times, and, importantly, minimises the costs incurred for you, and ultimately, the beneficiaries.
